Christmas is coming... and so is Panto!
Christmas is fast approaching and I can only think, "what on earth happened to the last year?".
Well, Castle Players seems to be back on its feet again with some new members, some new thinking and renewed enthusiasm. The One Act plays were our first venture since the shaky times of the past and they were very well attended by appreciative audiences; and we made a good profit for the Village Hall too. Panto has a huge cast of members old and new. It is great to see some of the old faces back again as welcoming the new. The panto is really shaping up to be something quite special. Rehearsals are always fun and productive. People are beginning to get off of their books, songs beginning to sound great and dances are coming together. Behind the scenes Linsey has designed a fabulous and yet simple set that will be easy for the back stage crew to handle. I love it when a plan comes together! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am by the pantomime. It is going to be so much fun for the audiences. Speaking of which, if you haven't already got your tickets, sort out a date now and join in the fun! Believe me, it is no fun being in a truly tremendous show that nobody comes to see; I've done that! Last week we had a read through of Jingo. There was a good turnout of people which was great. It's not the easiest of plays to read as there's quite a lot of "business" that goes on, an island rising out of the sea for example. But it was pretty well received. It will be challenging to cast and will need people to play two or three parts. I have managed to get the cast down to 11. Look out for audition dates later. I guess this will be the last newsletter now for the year so I shall just say, if I don't see you before, I hope and pray that you all have a very joy filled, peaceful and fun Christmas, that you're able to get together with you family, friends and loved ones and that you have a great New Year. See ya soon, Loadsa Love. Chairman Steve
