Feeling hot?!

Hope you're all making the most of this lovely weather! We actually seem to be having a summer this year, no doubt it'll end as soon as the kids break up from school! Just a very quick newsletter this month, Castle Players are on a bit of a break over the summer. Hope that any of you involved in other productions over the summer months have a great time. To that end, Linsey and I went to see 2 great shows last week. The first was Eric Chappell's Something's Burning at KCA which I was reviewing for Scene One and starred our very own Denise King. It was great fun, a really good night out. Then on Friday we hopped over to the Tivoli to see 9 to 5, directed by Duncan Trew, and what an amazing job he did! It was a fantastic show, great songs, excellent singing, an amazing set and all in all a wonderful evening's entertainment. And talking of great shows, we have a real treat for you this November with Blithe Spirit. We had a good turnout for the auditions and we have a great cast and a fantastic crew so I'm certain it's going to be a stonker! Start spreading the news, tickets are already available on our website so make sure you tell all your friends! We had a great turnout for our summer picnic at Upton Country Park a couple of weeks back, 25 of us chatted, laughed, played rounders and pétanque and generally had a good time! It was great to see so many of you and spend a couple of hours in the sunshine with our friends. Well that's it for this month, told you it would be quick! Don't forget our fun play read, this Sunday at the Rose and Crown and our container maintenance day on the 21st (see below for more info) hope to see you at one or both! In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine, keep drinking plenty of beer (er, I mean water!) and stay safe.
